Vila do Conde kicks off the 2025 São João Festivities
The city of Vila do Conde officially kicked off the 2025 São João Festivities last Saturday, May 31, with the inauguration ceremony of the festive lighting, which took place at 9:15 p.m., followed by a concert by the band Amália Hoje at 9:30 p.m. at Cais da Alfândega.
The festive lights, carefully designed for this year’s edition, transformed the urban space, filling the streets with color, brightness, and traditional atmosphere, marking the beginning of one of the most iconic moments in the municipality’s cultural calendar.
This year’s celebrations feature a diverse program with activities for all ages — concerts, street performances, folk dances, and cultural initiatives that celebrate and promote Vila do Conde’s unique identity and traditions.
The São João Festivities will take place over the coming weeks, expecting to attract thousands of visitors and make a significant contribution to the region’s social, cultural, and economic vitality.
