Honours and Awards: recognised competence, the best way to ensure quality and safety!

Castros is almost a centenary company that largely owes its longevity to the constant concern for adopting best management practices, ensuring the professionalism, quality and the safety of everyone in any activity related to our everyday business.

The adoption of the principles of Quality Management according to the NP EN ISO 9001:2008 standard has reinforced internal efficiency. This extended to the whole company, reflecting mainly on the quality of customer service, indicated by the high levels of customer satisfaction and the preference shown over many years.

The hiring of highly skilled professionals and heavy investment in training is one of our pledges. Internal communication between departments has also been enhanced. Measurement systems were introduced to help control and management. Also the procedures for selecting and evaluating suppliers are based on the purchase of certified, better quality and environment-friendly materials.

Under the motto of continuous improvement and aiming for clients’ total satisfaction at all times, we will continue to advance towards the goal of Excellence!

PME Líder

Castros was honoured with the award of PME Líder, meaning Small and Medium-size Leader Enterprise, by IAPMEI (a Portuguese Institute that Supports Small and Medium-size Enterprises and Innovation). The award distinguishes companies for the quality of their performance and risk profile, and which are recognised as being part of national economic growth in different sectors, pursuing growth strategies and competitive leadership.

In the context of this assessment, we were compared with several European companies in related sectors, in areas such as management, innovation, marketing excellence and financial performance, and in most of the indicators we found ourselves to be at an equal level.

And this merit of being able to recognise ourselves and to be recognised by several organizations as a leader, is not the sole responsibility of our Directors, nor department A or B. It is a merit shared by all of us, because Castros SA is built by all its people!
