...and the winner is!

The recognition of work is important to the evolution and maturity of any company. After the first incursions abroad, Castros quickly distinguished itself for its professionalism and competence, earning well deserved honours.

These awards are the constant encouragement and motivation that lead us to reinvent concepts and our approaches to the market, constantly introducing innovative and creative projects.

LED – Light Exhibition Design, Milan 2010

Considered by many the capital of Design, Milan challenged creative excellence to decorate the city with lights.

Balancing environmental sustainability, energy saving, creativity and innovation, young international talent and well-known designers (including Ingo Maurer, Karim Rashid, Ross Lovergrove, Pietro Castiglioni and Matteo Thun) had the responsibility, at Christmas 2010, of turning the city into an open-air visual arena, through light installations, projections, contemporary works of art and design.

This was the subject of the LED - Light Exhibition Design, a contest won by Castros’ designers, thanks to the support and contribution of the entire company.

Our Nuvole project was selected among the top-30 winners from over 150 competing projects. Each of the winning projects was subsequently implemented in several locations around the city, and our project occupied a well deserved prominent place in the Milan city area!

We are very proud of our Team for all these achievements and it is with great satisfaction that we thank all those who were involved in these initiatives! Congratulations, Castros!

Thionville Lumières 2006

Castros liked the 2005 experience so much that we decided to return to compete the following year. We reaffirmed our positioning in the sector with our second consecutive prize in Christmas illuminations, and this time also achieving the Innovation Award.

Thionville Lumières 2005

Thionville is a quiet town in northwest France that has been hosting a remarkable Christmas lights competition for some time now. The contest is divided into different categories according to the different areas of outdoor lighting.

During the course of the competition, the village streets are transformed into a “laboratory” where participants interpret each context and propose a lightning solution for every space that they were indicated to work on.

We decided to embark in this kind of competitions and on the internationalisation of our projects as a way of testing our strengths and structure by participating in this contest, which has significant standing in the sector in Europe.

We gave our best, and of course ... we won first prize!
